Ways to Give
Giving that works for you.
There are so many ways to invest in your community healthcare system through the Samaritan Medical Center Foundation of Northern New York. For full details and questions, please download our Ways to Give brochure or call us directly at 315-785-4584.
Outright and Annual Giving Close
The Samaritan Medical Center Foundation appreciates outright and annual gifts of all sizes, which provide our healthcare system with needed support throughout the year. You can make a gift of cash, check, or credit card today by clicking here.
- Businesses of any size can demonstrate their support of healthcare in the North Country through a corporate giving program to benefit Samaritan programs, equipment and services. Employers may also consider implementing a matching gift program to maximize the generosity of its employees and retirees. Employees, please check with your human resources office to see if your company offers matching gifts to non-profit agencies like the Samaritan Medical Center Foundation.
- Appreciated securities, such as stocks, bonds or mutual funds, can also be turned into charitable contributions. These provide the same benefits as cash for the hospital and offer the donor the additional benefit of paying no capital gains tax.
- Qualified real estate, such as undeveloped land, farms or personal residences, may be given outright to support the Samaritan Medical Center Foundation, or setup as a planned gift.
All donors who pledge gifts of $15,000 or more are recognized through membership in the Samaritan Society. Please click here to download our Samaritan Society Pledge Form.
Major Gifts and Naming Opportunities Close
A major gift to the Samaritan Medical Center Foundation has the potential to improve healthcare for thousands of local families, and for generations to come. And, as Samaritan continues to renovate and expand its facilities, donors have the opportunity to perpetuate the name of an individual, a family, a business or an organization.
To learn more about major gifts and naming opportunities, please contact Bonnie Eppolito at 315-779-6696.
Planned Giving Close
A planned gift is a deferred donation, arranged well ahead of time, usually through wills, life insurance, charitable trusts, or gifts of property or stock.
Truly a gift that keeps on giving, endowment fund gifts are invested, and only the interest earned is used to support programs – the principal remains intact.
Individuals who have included the Samaritan Medical Center Foundation in their estate plans or have created a planned gift are recognized by membership in the Stevens Society. Today’s technological advances are saving lives and ensuring the health of our community, things we could not offer without the help of friends who support our vision for a healthier community. If you have supported the Samaritan Medical Center Foundation with an annual gift or a gift in memory of a loved one, we deeply appreciate your support and invite you to consider a planned gift to help ensure the future of this vital community resource. A planned gift to the Samaritan Medical Center Foundation allows you to arrange your philanthropic giving to meet your personal values while minimizing the after-tax cost.

Events and Special Programs Close
The Samaritan Medical Center Foundation hosts several fundraising events on an annual basis, and sponsorship opportunities are always available. Please click here to see a list of upcoming events and get in touch with us at 315-785-5745 for more information.
Periodically, the Samaritan Medical Center Foundation awards grants to patients facing undue hardship in their care or recovery. Gifts to the special programs listed below can have a direct impact on the lives of individual patients.
One example is the Circle of Hope Grant — this program allows donors to lend a hand to patients undergoing cancer treatment. Funds raised are awarded to cancer patients throughout Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence counties.
The Bethany Wright Remembrance Fund was established in memory of Bethany Wright, a nurse at Samaritan Medical Center for over thirty years, this fund provides continuing education scholarships to Samaritan Medical Center nurses.
The Susan K. Peters Nursing Scholarship was established to assist with the education costs for a registered nurse (RN) who is continuing his/her education, specifically to pursue a Nurse Practitioner (NP) degree.
You can support quality healthcare in the North Country right now.
No matter how you choose to make your gift, we appreciate you continuing the tradition of caring that has helped Samaritan thrive since 1881.
