Giving that
works for you
There are so many ways to invest in your community healthcare system through the Samaritan Medical Center Foundation of Northern New York. For full details and questions, please download our Ways to Give brochure or call us directly at 315-785-4584.
Outright and Annual Giving
The Samaritan Medical Center Foundation appreciates outright and annual gifts of all sizes, which provide our healthcare system with needed support throughout the year. You can make a gift of cash, check, or credit card today by clicking here.
- Businesses of any size can demonstrate their support of healthcare in the North Country through a corporate giving program to benefit Samaritan programs, equipment and services. Employers may also consider implementing a matching gift program to maximize the generosity of its employees and retirees. Employees, please check with your human resources office to see if your company offers matching gifts to non-profit agencies like the Samaritan Medical Center Foundation.
- Appreciated securities, such as stocks, bonds or mutual funds, can also be turned into charitable contributions. These provide the same benefits as cash for the hospital and offer the donor the additional benefit of paying no capital gains tax.
- Qualified real estate, such as undeveloped land, farms or personal residences, may be given outright to support the Samaritan Medical Center Foundation, or setup as a planned gift.
All donors who pledge gifts of $15,000 or more are recognized through membership in the Samaritan Society. Please click here to download our Samaritan Society Pledge Form.
Major Gifts and Naming Opportunities
A major gift to the Samaritan Medical Center Foundation has the potential to improve healthcare for thousands of local families, and for generations to come. And, as Samaritan continues to renovate and expand its facilities, donors have the opportunity to perpetuate the name of an individual, a family, a business or an organization.
To learn more about major gifts and naming opportunities, please contact Beth Fipps at 315-785-5785 or email donations@shsny.com.
Planned Giving
A planned gift is a deferred donation, arranged well ahead of time, usually through wills, life insurance, charitable trusts, or gifts of property or stock.
Endowment Funds
Truly a gift that keeps on giving, endowment fund gifts are invested, and only the interest earned is used to support programs – the principal remains intact.
Stevens Society
Individuals who have included the Samaritan Medical Center Foundation in their estate plans or have created a planned gift are recognized by membership in the Stevens Society. Today’s technological advances are saving lives and ensuring the health of our community, things we could not offer without the help of friends who support our vision for a healthier community. If you have supported the Samaritan Medical Center Foundation with an annual gift or a gift in memory of a loved one, we deeply appreciate your support and invite you to consider a planned gift to help ensure the future of this vital community resource. A planned gift to the Samaritan Medical Center Foundation allows you to arrange your philanthropic giving to meet your personal values while minimizing the after-tax cost.
