A community fundraiser is an event coordinated by an individual or group that benefits Children’s Miracle Network of NNY. Spread the word about your fundraiser and encourage friends, family, coworkers or customers to donate to support the cause you are passionate about. There are many ways to raise money for CMN, and here are just a few possibilities: 

• Athletic events: Bike- or walk-a-thon, group class, sports clinic, exercise challenge 
• Groups and gatherings: Dinner party, game night, fishing tournament, fashion show, movie night, birthday party 
• Sales and drives: Bake sale, car wash, coin collection, can and bottle drive, craft sale, lemonade stand, art auction, yard sale 
• Other fundraisers: Facebook, Extra Life 

Children’s Miracle Network of NNY and Samaritan Medical Center encourage community fundraisers and embrace the creativity of supporters like you. We only ask that you share the details of your fundraising plans with us before getting started. 

Please complete the proposal form below at least three weeks before your event. Our team will review your plan and get in touch with you within seven business days.

When you submit a fundraising proposal, we hope that you have a good understanding of our organization and our mission and that your event will reflect this to the public. If we feel that the event would not be a good match for CMN or Samaritan, we reserve the right to decline your proposal.  

You may have some questions as you start to plan your fundraiser, and we are here to help! Once your proposal is approved we can: 

• Offer guidance with planning your event, accepting donations, and using CMN logos 
• Provide a letter in support of your event to share with donors and the community 
• Supply you with informational materials and supporting documents, as available 
• Review requests for a CMN or Samaritan representative to attend your event, with advance notice and in consideration of availability and schedules 

There are also some things we are not able to provide, including: 

• Upfront funding or reimbursement of expenses related to your event 
• Mailing lists of potential donors or solicitation of sponsors for your event 
• Guaranteed event attendance or day-of assistance from CMN or Samaritan staff 
• Permits, licenses or insurances required for your event 

All fundraising events and promotions for Children’s Miracle Network of Northern New York (CMN) require written permission before being announced to the public.

Please submit your proposal early enough to allow time prior to the event date to publicize, distribute promotional materials and share information with your audience.

When your proposal is approved, you will be authorized to use “Samaritan Medical Center,” “Children’s Miracle Network of Northern New York” and “CMN of NNY” along with the logos provided to promote your event.

Organization names and logos may not be altered in any way.

Please submit all promotional materials for CMN approval prior to sharing with the public.

Children’s Miracle Network of Northern New York cannot sponsor or endorse fundraising events, promotions or products. Printed materials and other information should state the “Proceeds will benefit Children’s Miracle Network of Northern New York at Samaritan.”

Your fundraising event must comply with all relevant laws, including the laws of the State of New York. You are responsible for securing any necessary permits, licenses or insurances to hold your event.

In general, fundraising event expenses should be less than 50% of the total raised. CMN of NNY and Samaritan Medical Center do not finance community fundraisers or third-party events. If event expenses are greater than the total collected, you are responsible for payment of those expenses.

The public should be fully informed regarding any net amounts that will be donated to the hospital. Potential donors must be informed whenever less than 100% of the net proceeds will be donated to the hospital.

Within six weeks of the last day of the fundraising event, please send a final accounting of income and expenses to CMN. A check made payable to Children’s Miracle Network should be sent to:
