Robotic Surgery

The incisions are smaller, but the stories are bigger. At Samaritan, we’re helping patients get back to their lives faster, and with less discomfort through robotic urologic, gynecologic and general surgery.

Robotic surgery uses smaller incisions than traditional surgery. This helps our patients to have shorter recovery times. Samaritan has the largest team of robotically-trained surgeons in the region. We also use the most advanced robotic surgical system in the world—the da Vinci® Surgical System.

While all surgeries carry risk, traditional open surgery with a large incision has its specific drawbacks – pain, trauma, long recovery time and risk of infection. Fortunately, less invasive options are available to many patients facing surgery. With the assistance of the da Vinci® Surgical System, surgeons can operate through tiny incisions of 1-2 cm and with greater vision, precision and control than ever before.

When medication, lifestyle changes and other non-surgical treatments cannot relieve symptoms, surgery is often the suggested treatment for many conditions. If your doctor recommends surgery, learning about all surgical options can help you to make the best decision for your situation and ease any anxiety you may be feeling about surgery.
