As the only academic teaching facility in Northern New York, Samaritan Medical Center attracts medical students and physicians pursuing advanced residency training from across the country. Our medical students and resident physicians benefit from a comprehensive educational experience, including daily lectures, one-on-one clinical exposure in various specialties, and engagement in clinical research.
Samaritan offers specialty residency programs accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) in both Family Medicine and Internal Medicine.

Family Medicine
Our Family Medicine Residency Program shapes resident physicians into caring, compassionate doctors with the sufficient self-assurance needed to provide excellent family-focused care in any environment.
Internal Medicine
Our Internal Medicine Residency Program provides resident physicians a comprehensive, structured cognitive and procedural clinical education in both inpatient and outpatient settings, which enables them to become competent, proficient and professional internists.
