Is this happening to you or someone you know? If so, we can help. the Interventional Pain Management Center is a partnership between Samaritan Medical Center and Jefferson Anesthesiologist Services. Our multidisciplinary team of professionals is devoted to providing chronic pain management services to the communities of northern New York and Fort Drum, NY. Our goal is to provide optimization of the quality of life for patients who are afflicted by chronic pain through the various treatment modalities offered by our multi-disciplinary team and the cooperative efforts of the patient and their family.

We are a convenient location on the hospital campus, with ample parking, state-of-the-art equipment and a comfortable setting for all patients. We are pleased to make all of this available to patients in northern New York and Fort Drum...eliminating the inconvenience and discomfort of traveling to other regional centers.

Our Staff

StaffOur expert staff includes fellowship-trained Interventional Pain Management Physician Dr. Ivan Montalvo, Medical Director of Pain Managment, and Nurse Practitioners Lynn Barber and Susan Walker.

Referrals / Appointments

Samaritan Medical Center's Pain Management Center only accepts appointments by a doctor's referral for a patient. If you feel you would benefit from this service, please discuss this with your personal physician, such you primary care doctor. If you are in need of a doctor, please use our Find a Physician database to contact one.

Services & Procedures

When a patient is referred for evaluation and treatment at the Pain Management Center, they will receive state-of-the-art pain therapy, including access to procedures performed by a fellowship-trained physician.

Understanding Pain

Chronic pain syndromes often involve not only the patient, but the family as well. Many patients are unable to work due to their chronic conditions, and that opens the door to many social, economic and family stressors. The Pain Management Center at Samaritan understands this and strives to treat each aspect of the patient's condition.
