When a psychiatric illness requires someone you love to be hospitalized, you want the highest quality, most compassionate care available. At the Samaritan Medical Center Inpatient Mental Health Unit, you will find an environment conducive to empathy, healing, and respect. We provide a full range of care for adults 18 and over. Through a proper balance of structure, treatment, and safe discharge planning, our patients work toward a successful return to the community.
Each patient receives individualized treatment and quality care that best suits their needs. This quality care is provided using a multi-disciplinary approach, including one-to-one contacts, educational groups related to depression, stress/anger management and anxiety, recreational groups and leisure time activities including Yoga, T'ai-Chi and meditation. Cases are reviewed daily by one treatment team, and patients are invited to participate directly with their treatment team. There are also specialized groups offered for military patients. In addition, family meetings and command meetings are a significant part of our treatment process.
Samaritan's Inpatient Mental Health Unit has 32 beds and patients typically stay an average of 7 to 10 days. Our staff includes Psychiatrists, Registered and Licensed Practical Nurses, Mental Health Workers, Social Workers, Discharge Planning Coordinators and Safety Aides – all working together to create an environment of trust and safety.
