SUBWAY® Raises Money for CMN

$250,000 Campaign Launched by SUBWAY® Restaurants, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals® in North Country

Successful opening week starts effort off strong

Watertown, NY (December 13, 2016)— SUBWAY® Restaurants, in partnership with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals®, launched their annual fundraising effort in New York in December. 12 other northeastern markets are also running a month-long campaign that ends December 31. The initial returns have exceeded projections by 24%.

Funds are being raised in-store through the purchase of a $1 Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Balloon. In return, customers receive a $1 coupon for a future SUBWAY® Restaurants purchase. 100% of the funds raised will benefit Samaritan Medical Center.

“Subway is a national brand, but our restaurants are locally owned and operated and we value our connection to the North Country communities,” said Rick Allen, Chairperson of the local SUBWAY® Restaurants franchisee group. “By leveraging that connection, we can help sustain the mission of Samaritan Medical Center and meet the needs of area families facing medical hardships.”

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals’ funds critical treatments and healthcare services, pediatric medical equipment and charitable care at 170 member hospitals, including Samaritan.

For instance, born with a rare congenital heart defect and chromosomal deletion,
Adeline has already undergone one 10-hour open heart surgery and is awaiting her second.
She takes 13 medications daily. Granted a trip to Disney through the Make-A-Wish® Foundation, she will be traveling in January. Adeline is a spunky three-year-old little girl who puts a smile on the face of all whom she encounters.

“It’s important for people to understand what their donations enable,” said Kristin Stockwell, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals’ Development Manager at Samaritan Medical Center. “We are glad to have Subway working again this year on behalf of all of the children who visit Samaritan Medical Center. Subway’s efforts mean that we can have more stories like Adeline’s.

To support the campaign and fund more miracles like Adeline, simply visit your local SUBWAY® Restaurants location and purchase a $1 balloon.
