Life before Medical School:
I spent 2 years in Spain as a Missionary, then I picked a University based on the availability of cheap snowboarding nearby (I actually did a semester of only M W F classes so I could go snowboarding every T Th Sat!).  After graduating undergrad, I spent 1 year teaching high school physics in Houston, TX before starting Medical School.  In order to pay for college, I worked in construction since I was 16 in various capabilities as a roofer, stone mason, welder, painter, demolition & remodeling, heavy machine operator, and other various jobs.

Interests:
Soccer, Snowboarding, Spending time with my family.

Favorite Thing about the Area:
The weather.

Favorite Thing about Residency at Samaritan:
I like that the residency is primarily 1-on-1 with the attending.  Samaritan is large enough to be able to see a wide variety of pathology and disease, but small enough to where you get a lot of hands on experience, and you are expected to take the reigns and stand on your own two feet as a doctor and a part of the team.
