Samaritan is proud to participate with the MASH Camp program – it stands for the Medical Academy of Science and Health.

It is a unique opportunity for local middle and high school students to experience the heath care world in an interactive way. Students are able to evaluate a variety of careers within healthcare over three full-day sessions. In addition, information is provided for additional job shadow and school sponsored opportunities.

The Fort Drum Regional Health Planning Organization (FDRHPO) sponsors the camps, and Samaritan is one of four hospitals hosting the camp each year. We have 20-25 students participate in the Summer Camp and 10-15 for the Winter Camp. Each camp includes interactive sessions with a variety of departments within Samaritan. Past camps have included sessions with the Respiratory, Radiology, Laboratory, Biomedical and Emergency Departments over the three days. Each student will have a 2 – 3 hour session in each department and past Summer Camps have included CPR instruction in separate sessions.
