Samaritan is practicing a Point of Dispensing (POD) vaccine DRILL on Wednesday, October 23rd, 2019. Flu vaccinations will be offered to hundreds of employees to practice this special drill. We practice scenarios like this in the case of an emergency and a vaccine is needed to be distributed quickly and efficiently to our community.

Community Service Plan

Samaritan Medical Center’s 2016-2018 Community Service Plan fulfills the requirements of a federal statute under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act requiring non-profit hospitals to develop a three-year action plan addressing community health needs as identified in a current community health assessment. Samaritan’s plan was developed in collaboration with the Fort Drum Regional Health Planning Organization, which conducted a regional health assessment in 2016. The Jefferson County Community Health Assessment is a fundamental part of Samaritan’s Community Service Plan.

The complete 2016 Tug Hill Seaway Community Health Assessment, which covers the Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence tri-county region, may be accessed at the North Country Health Compass website here.
