Heartfelt Thanks to the community for their involvement in a highly successful 2015 A North Country Festival of Trees!

A North Country Festival of Trees Committee extends heartfelt appreciation to all who rendered support during this event.  Our thanks go out to sponsors, decorators, volunteers, performers, tree purchasers and attendees to A North Country Festival of Trees. It is your support which makes us successful in providing quality children's services to residents and visitors to Northern New York both at Samaritan Medical Center and the Watertown YMCA.

The Watertown Family YMCA has been a part of the Watertown community since 1855. Through quality programs, the YMCA provides for the strengthening of families, the healthy development of children, positive individual behaviors, and a healthy, safer community for all. Children’s programs emphasize caring, respect, honesty, character building, fun and friendship. Over 5,000 children are served each year throughout Jefferson County. From swimming lessons and sports programs, to activities for teens and childcare - programs are open to everyone, creating a sense of community for children and families. For more information on YMCA programs call 782-3100.

The Samaritan Medical Center Foundation was established in 1996 to encourage gifts that support and advance healthcare provided by Samaritan Medical Center and to increase the public’s awareness of and participation in health and wellness programs. Funds raised by the Festival of Trees will be used to establish and maintain quality pediatric healthcare services and programs at Samaritan Medical Center. For more information about the Samaritan Medical Center Foundation call 315-785-5745.

One Night - One Diamond Event

ONOD headerSaturday, April 1, 2017

The Samaritan Auxiliary presents One Night, One Diamond, an elegant evening of dining and dancing to the band Atlas
with an opportunity to win an exquisite half-carat diamond donated by Cook's Jewelers.
Proceeds from this event are used to purchase needed medical equipment for Samaritan Health facilities.

This year Samaritan Auxiliary is focusing it’s fundraising efforts on purchasing a state of the art Olympus 360º radial linear, extra-slim mini probe
for image guided cancer detection that can go deeper into the lungs to detect lung cancer.

The second item to be purchased is an Altrix Precision Temperature Management System that provides body warming and cooling
to treat hypothermia, or in the case of hyperthermia to reduce fevers and the potential for associated seizures,
organ failure, an altered level of consciousness, and also in patients with hypoxic brain injuries.
With the rise locally in drug overdoses, the need for this equipment is even more critical at this time.
