Plus, volunteering is good for your health! Not only are you giving back to your community and helping others, but you are improving yourself at the same time. Volunteering can: help you develop new friendships, gain confidence and learn new skills, make professional contacts, and give you a sense of purpose and well-being.

Ways to Give

Donate Button

When you invest in the Wilderness Health Care Foundation, you are investing in the health of our community for generations to come! Charitable giving helps to make important advancements at Clifton-Fine Hospital possible. It allows us to enhance patient care services, acquire specialized equipment, upgrade our facility and provide continuing education for our talented healthcare professionals. There are numerous ways you can invest in Clifton-Fine Hospital’s future with a contribution to the Wilderness Health Care Foundation. Gifts of all sizes and types help to make our hospital stronger. Please contact the Foundation at 315-848-4284 to learn more about any of the great opportunities listed below.

Memorial & Honorary Gifts
Memorial and honorary gifts create a lasting tribute to family members, friends or anyone else who has a meaningful place in your life. You can also consider making a gift in honor of a Clifton-Fine Hospital caregiver - perhaps someone who went the extra mile to care for you or a loved one.

Endowment Fund Gifts
Truly a gift that keeps on giving, donations made to our endowment fund are invested with the sole purpose of generating income that can then be used to help to make important advancements at Clifton-Fine Hospital possible. Only the interest earned is used to support programs - the principal remains intact. Best of all, the Northern New York Community Foundation will match, dollar for dollar, the first $25,000 in gifts made to this fund!

Planned Giving
Planned giving is a deferred donation, arranged well ahead of time, usually through wills, life insurance, charitable trusts, or gifts of property or stock. It does not usually require an immediate gift, but instead guarantees that a contribution will be made in the future. There are a variety of easy planned giving options from which you can choose – from naming the Foundation as a beneficiary in your will or of a life insurance policy or pension plan, to more complex charitable trust arrangements.

Naming Opportunities
As Clifton-Fine Hospital continues to renovate and expand its facilities, this program creates an opportunity for donors to perpetuate the name of an individual, a family, a business or an organization for years to come.

Amazon Smile
Shop as usual with Amazon Smile. On your first visit to smile.amazon.com, you need to select Clifton-Fine Health Care Corporation as your charitable organization to receive donations from eligible purchases before you begin shopping. Amazon will remember your selection, and then every eligible purchase you make at smile.amazon.com will result in a donation of a percentage of the purchase price from Amazon to Clifton-Fine Hospital at no cost to you!

The mission of the Wilderness Health Care Foundation is to connect the generosity of our communities with opportunities to support the Clifton-Fine Hospital and Primary Care Clinic to improve lives through better healthcare close to home.

Executive Director
Wilderness Health Care Foundation

Why should I give to the Wilderness Health Care Foundation?
Your tax-deductible gift ensures that New York’s smallest hospital remains open and fully equipped to deliver 24-hour emergency services, primary clinic care, lab and imaging services, telemedicine, physical therapy, long-term care and more. We are proud of the caring and dedicated team of professionals working to deliver care year-round in our Adirondack community. Supporting the Wilderness Health Care Foundation in its effort to raise money for Clifton-Fine Hospital represents a tangible act of support to provide quality healthcare in Clifton, Fine and the surrounding communities.

Your donations at work:
When you make a gift to the Wilderness Health Care Foundation, you are giving the gift of good health to your family, friends, and neighbors. Monies raised by the Foundation provide critical funding for facilities and equipment that benefit Clifton-Fine patients and our entire community.

Here are just a few recent examples of our donors’ dollars at work:

  • Medical gas (oxygen delivery) system upgrades
  • Vital signs machine for the Primary Care Clinic and Emergency Room
  • Fluid warming machine for the Emergency Room
  • Parking lot repaving project for the safety of patients entering and leaving the Primary Care Clinic, Emergency Room and Physical Therapy, especially those at high risk for falls.
  • Phlebotomy (blood draw) chair replacement for the Lab. The new chair reclines and is adjustable.
  • Ultrasound stimulation equipment replacement for Physical Therapy

The Golden Hour - 60 precious minutes
In emergency medicine, the golden hour refers to a time period lasting for one hour, or less, following traumatic injury sustained through a casualty or medical emergency, during which there is the highest likelihood that prompt medical treatment will prevent death. It is well established that the patient’s chances of survival are greatest if they receive care within a short period of time after a severe injury.
