Admission Procedures

Being admitted to the hospital is often a stressful time for a patient and his/her family, often unplanned and confusing. Clifton-Fine Hospital wants to make sure every patient's admission is as simple and positive as possible, regardless of how or why you are being admitted – through your doctor's office or from the Emergency Department.

Direct Admission (from your doctor's office) – Direct admissions are coordinated through the Registration area located XXXXXXXXXXXXX. Please use the Main entrance.

Emergency Department Admission – If you are being admitted through our Emergency Department, the hospital staff will handle all aspects of your admission from there.

If your admission is planned, please be sure to bring all relevant documentation to ensure that the admission process is as seamless as possible. This includes your insurance card(s), photo identification, Health Care Proxy, and a list of your current medications.

You will be given an identification bracelet that contains information needed for staff dedicated to providing you with the highest quality care. Please wear this bracelet at all times. We will ask you to sign a consent form (parents or guardians must sign for dependent minors and a legal or other responsible party will be asked to sign for patients who are unable to sign). This consent form will allow us to care for you in the best possible way.

Inpatient Room Services

As a patient at Clifton-Fine Hospital, we strive to always provide you with the best care possible in a comfortable, calm and healing environment. Once you are settled into your room, please know that your care team is here to exceed your expectations, from nursing care to dietary needs to everything in between.

Nurse Call System

Unless you are told it is permissible to do so, it would be best not to get in and out of bed by yourself. Ask the nurse to help you. If the side rails are on your bed and are in the “up” position, they are there for your protection and to assist you in turning. Please do not try to get in or out of a wheelchair by yourself.

Our staff is committed to hourly rounding. At a minimum a member of your care team will be into your room to check on you each hour and be sure all of your needs are being met. Should you need something more frequently, there is a nurse call button located conveniently on your bed. Please do not hesitate to call upon us if needed.

Phones are available in patient rooms at no additional fee. Feel free to give your family members and friends the direct number to your room, or they can call our main line at 315-848-3351 to have the operator connect them to your room.
