Obstetrics and Gynecology – Hospital Employed
Samaritan’s OB-GYN practice, Women’s Wellness & Breast Care (WWBC), is a group of four (4) obstetrician-gynecologists and three (3) nurse midwives that have an expanding panel of women who have great loyalty to their providers. Because of the growth, an additional OB-GYN physician is being recruited to join the employment of Samaritan Medical Center. This is a National Health Services Corp (NHSC) certified opportunity. The group had 800 deliveries in 2018. Obstetrician call is between 1:5 and 1:6. With WWBC, there are a total of five (5) OB-GYN physicians in the community and there is a very collegial working relationship with the military OB-GYN service affiliated with Fort Drum who typically number about four (4) additional physicians at any given time. 24-hour obstetrical anesthesia support is available. A Level II Neonatal Nursery is on site with 24-hour board certified neonatology physicians available. Women’s Wellness & Breast Care is co-located with Samaritan’s new breast care program to cover the full spectrum of women’s health care needs in a beautiful renovated space. There is approximately a 5-minute commute from the office to the Samaritan hospital campus. Samaritan’s obstetrical providers work in a newly designed Labor and Delivery Unit with two dedicated surgical suites. The unit has its own hospital entrance and dedicated obstetrical parking. Samaritan’s surgery center has eight (8) operating rooms; a robust robotic program has been developing since 2012. Equipment was upgraded to the daVinci Xi with integrated table technology earlier this year. Pulmonary and Critical Care – Hospital Employed

This is a non-cardiac position and will focus on chest surgery. Board certification in Thoracic Surgery is required. Five to ten years of experience is ideal. Minimally invasive surgical skills are valuable. Use of video-assisted thoracic surgery and surgery supported by the Xi daVinci Robot is available to the surgeon candidate. Emergency Medicine – Private Practice –Nocturnal Position
North Country Emergency Medicine Consultants, P.C. (NC-EMC) is extending invitation to interview to join group of 18 providers (physicians and APPs). NC-EMC provides emergency medicine services exclusively for Samaritan Medical Center, 290 bed facility. The Medical Staff of 190+ physicians provides for extensive subspecialty collaboration and support to the emergency medicine providers. A very capable and collegial hospitalist service serves as a partner to the emergency medicine team. Care is provided for approximately 50,000 emergency visits per year and are triaged between acute visits and fast track visits. Double physician duty hours are staffed during peak hours for acute care services. The Emergency Department was a total new build out in 2010 and provides for 50 private patient rooms.
